Ben Blachly

Ben Blachly, Ph.D., is an environmental economist with expertise in valuation, ecosystem services, and risk. He regularly integrates economic, social, biophysical, and spatial datasets to address complex environmental management and policy challenges. He has applied his expertise to support decision-making across multiple scales, including natural resource management, regulatory analysis, and litigation support.
His current work includes evaluating the benefits of coastal resilience investments, assessing the economic effects of conservation policies, designing primary nonmarket valuation studies, and estimating economic damages associated with hazardous releases. He brings extensive experience in data-driven analysis, statistical modeling, and interdisciplinary research to inform policy and management decisions for federal and state agencies, nonprofits, and private clients.
Ben holds a Ph.D. in environmental and natural resource economics from the University of Rhode Island and a B.A. in economics from Rhode Island College.
