In addition to our senior consulting staff, IEc employs consultants at two junior levels—Associates and Research Analysts. Staff in these roles often work for several Principals and projects at any given time.
Associates
Associates are the primary analysts on most projects, executing methods that they and other project team members develop. They conduct toxicological and restoration evaluations, statistical and econometric modeling, and other complex analyses. Associates frequently are responsible for structuring and writing reports, presentations, and other communications. Associates typically have graduate degrees in fields such as economics, public policy, science, and business.
Technical Consultants
Technical Consultants provide research, technical analysis, and communications support, often across multiple projects. They provide analytic support on projects independently and as members of larger project teams. Technical consultants provide specialized skills in data analytics, spatial analysis, economics, and finance, as well as ecology, biology, chemistry, and other hard sciences. Depending on educational background and experience, they may undertake field work, develop and apply analytical models and tools, maintain databases, or deliver training courses.
Research Analysts
Research Analysts (RAs) at IEc work with supervisors to gather, manage, analyze, and present data central to project objectives. They design and implement models to estimate economic, ecological, and physical impacts of regulatory actions and business decisions. Depending on their level of experience, RAs also interpret findings, refine analytic methods, and contribute to written products. While all other IEc consultants hold graduate degrees, RAs generally have undergraduate degrees in disciplines such as economics, mathematics, and environmental science. Our research analysts frequently move on to earn graduate degrees in a wide variety of fields.
