Jennifer Kassakian

Senior Technical Consultant

Jen Kassakian specializes in the socioeconomic analysis of natural resource management policies and programs, and natural resource damage assessment. With her diverse background in the natural sciences and environmental policy, Jen is able to offer clients an interdisciplinary approach to complex natural resource challenges. She has eighteen years of experience developing, analyzing, and evaluating the economic and social impacts of natural resource management policies, regulations, and legislation for the public, private, and non-governmental sectors, with a particular emphasis on marine and endangered species. In the field of natural resource damage assessment, she performs complex analyses estimating the scope and scale of natural resource injuries due to toxic and radioactive contaminants, and has helped clients develop effective approaches for identifying and quantifying injury to natural resources, and designing restoration projects to compensate for those losses. Her clients have included the National Marine Fisheries Service, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Energy, the Washington State Departments of Natural Resources, Fish and Wildlife, and Ecology, and numerous Federally-recognized Tribes.

Jen holds a Master of Marine Affairs degree from the University of Washington, as well as a B.A., magna cum laude, in Biology with an environmental concentration from Colby College.
