Dr. Shellenbarger Jones manages assessments of ecological systems. With a chemistry background and ten years of experience in
environmental valuation, she works primarily on developing and implementing methods to assess and value ecological services,
for natural resource damage assessment (NRDA) and for evaluating impacts of climate change. She has worked on a variety of
NRDA cases including oil spills, mining sites, and multiple-source injuries, providing support throughout the assessment and
restoration. In particular, she develops specialized field programs to address NRDA needs, assists clients with integrating
and retrieving data, and performs habitat equivalency analysis.
Dr. Shellenbarger Jones holds a B.A. cum laude in chemistry, with a concentration in biochemistry, from Washington University
in St. Louis. She received her Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she
also studied environmental policy in the Technology and Policy Program.
