Ms. van Geel specializes in planning, managing, and reviewing scientific projects in
support of natural resource damage assessments (NRDA). She has particular expertise
in the development and evaluation of habitat equivalency analysis (HEA) and resource
equivalency analysis (REA) models. Her work provides supporting evidence for clients
engaged in settlement negotiations or environmental litigation.
Ms. van Geel holds a B.A., summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, in Molecular Biology from
Princeton University. She pursued Environmental Studies at Murdoch University in Perth,
Australia on a Fulbright Scholarship for one year. She also holds an M.S. in Biology from MIT.
